Lead vocalist Fergie Frederiksen leaves the band and is replaced by Joseph Williams, son of legendary film composer John Williams and 1950s actress Barbara Ruick. The band released Mindfields in 1999 and goes on a massive worldwide tour. After several weeks in Europe the band travels to Japan for sold-out shows. The original group was joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.
